"While in Limoux, France, I did rubbings of various carved and raised surfaces whether they were on sidewalks or on the very decorated fountain in the town square. I did not only do simple rubbings, but I superimposed the various rubbings to achieve a collage of images. The originals were done in oil pastels. I have made 15 prints of each rubbing." PMZ
